Every year, the beauty realm gets introduced to cutting-edge Asian beauty brands that provide unique perspectives on conventional beauty products and trends. Not only do these brands create products that are suitable for Asian skin tones and concerns, but they also bring about Asian beauty approaches that one might be hard-pressed to find in Western beauty products.

Glow Recipe
Fans of K-Beauty will be no stranger to holy-grail skincare brand Glow Recipe. Founded by beauty industry veterans Christine Chang and Sarah Lee, the brand’s superfruit-themed products are constantly a hit amongst skincare aficionados. In fact, their most popular product – the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask – racked up a waiting list of 5,000 when it first launched. Of course, the brand’s millennial-forward colourful packaging is also a top selling point.
Luckily for us here in Singapore, we no longer have to fork out exorbitant shipping costs to get our hands on the products. Then I Met You
Founded by Soko Glam’s co-founder Charlotte Cho, Then I Met You is a premium skincare line. Besides being widely regarded as a major contributor for the rise of K-Beauty in America, Cho is also a beauty expert. It therefore comes as no surprise that products from Then I Met You have received much praise for their effectiveness.

Sunnies Face
Cult-favourite beauty label Sunnies Face has also recently made their launch in Singapore. The Philippines-based beauty brand took the world by storm with their iconic Fluffmatte lipsticks. With their universally flattering shades and weightless touch, the millennial-approved lipsticks were all sold out within minutes of their initial launch. The lipsticks are even favoured by celebrities the likes of Elsa Hosk, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Christina Aguilera.

Online K-Beauty curation site Peach & Lily is making waves with their eponymous in-house skincare brand. Launched by site founder Alicia Yoon, the Peach & Lily skincare collection features non-toxic, vegan, cruelty-free products with ingredients that are clinically-proven. The brand embraces the slow-and-effective approach, with the idea that the gentle products will help people achieve stunning results over the course of a few weeks, rather than harried outcomes overnight.
A star ingredient in the beauty brand’s products is peach extract. Unique in nature, peach extract is hard to come by in most skincare products due to the high level of difficulty during the extraction process.
